Chloroform (CHCl3) is suitable for Normal Phase Chromatographic (NPC) applications, where the stationary phase is polar and the mobile phase involves non-polar solvents. Chloroform being a non-polar solvent is suited for silica packed columns. You can run chloroform on silica-bound C18.
Chloroform is used as a mobile phase in High Performance Liquid Chromatography and Liquid Chromatography coupled with Mass Spectrometry.
It is very slightly soluble in water, freely soluble in chloroform and alcohol.and pyrantel pamoate by RP-HPLC in combined tablet dosage forms.
