Sodium Sulfide 60% Flakes is classified as a dangerous product. It is corrosive to metals and contact with the skin and eyes can cause burns. It is toxic if swallowed and is very toxic to aquatic life. Contact with acids must be avoided. In contact with acids, the toxic gas Hydrogen Sulfide (H₂S) can be released. On exposure to air it gradually absorbs oxygen and darkens in color and develops a more pronounced odour. It decomposes when heated at 80 to 100 °C.

Component of citrus fruit coatings. Emulsifying agent in foods Oleic acid is a monounsaturated omega-9 fatty acid found in various animal and vegetable fats. The trans isomer of oleic acid is called elaidic acid.
