Thickening and thixotropic agent for aqueous systems. Application

Xanthum Gum is suitable for use as a thickener and stabilizing additive for all aqueous coating systems and technical applications such as water thinkable lacquers, dispersion paints and plasters, glues printing inks, silicon paints as well as pigments and filler preparations.

Xanthum Gum is a natural biopolymer based on poly saccharides. The average molarity is approximately 2x106 g/mol. IT is soluble in cold and hot water and yields highly viscous, shear and thinnable solutions. It is insoluble in most organic solvents. Xanthum Gum is fully soluble in water and mixtures of organic liquids with at least 60% water content. Ethanol content of up to 50% is also possible.

Xanthum Gum is stable in anionic and non Ionic systems. In cationic systems, it is not always compatible.

The solutions are pH- and temperature stable. There is almost no change in viscosity from pH 2-12.The temperature has relatively less influence on the on the viscosity of a solution of Xanthum Gum.

Xanthum Gum prevents settling of pigments and fillers and separation of the liquid phase during storage. Application is made easier through pronounced structural viscosity .The viscosity sinks when the shear force is increased. It rapidly returns to the starting value when the shear  force is increased. It rapidly returns to the starting value when the sheer force is removed. The product is compatible with most commonly used binders and thickeners used in the coating industry.

Conservation

Solution of Xanthum Gum should be preserved if they are to be stored for more than 24 hours. Compatibility is given with preservatives which are common in the paint industry.

Storage conditions

Xanthum Gum can be stored for at least 24 months at room temperature and dry conditions.

Xanthum Gum should be stored cool (max 30° C) and dry (max 70% relative humidity) in closed packages.

According to regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 Xanthum Gum is not classified as a dangerous product and therefore does not need to be labeled.

Propylene Glycol USP,  is a high-purity grade of monopropylene glycol for use in pharmaceutical, food, cosmetic, personal care, flavor and fragrance, plus a variety of other applications.It is a light, transparent liquid, almost odorless and with low volatility. It is completely soluble in water and in most organic solvents. In addition, all propylene glycols have a great capacity to hold and dissolve active ingredients equally which allows them to serve as carriers of aromas, flavors, dyes and moisture. 

Propylene Glycol USP is tested for compliance with the current USP, EP, and Japanese Pharmacopoeia (JP) specifications plus the Food Chemical Codex (FCC); it also complies with the Brazilian Pharmacopoeia, and other pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food regulations in the global markets where it is sold. It is listed by the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association as an approved ingredient in cosmetics and its use is reviewed by the Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR). Propylene Glycol USP is Kosher certified and complies with Halal requirements.

Storage and Handling :

Propylene Glycol USP is stable for at least two years when stored at ambient temperatures in closed containers and away from sunlight and other sources of UV light.Where product heating is utilized (i.e. for bulk storage and/or transport containers) the product temperature should be controlled to prevent unintentional overheating over extended periods as this may potentially lead to accelerated oxidative degradation of the product.

Walnut shell grit is the hard fibrous product made from ground or crushed walnut shells. Walnut shells are all natural, 100% silica free making them an environmentally abrasive for delicate blasting processes. The gentle cleaning action cleans surfaces with damaging the underlying material.

RXSOL Turbo Cleaner Dry Walnut Shell is natural organic materials with controlled particle size used for cleaning blades of gas side of exhaust-gas turbochargers in modern diesel engines. The specific structure of RXSOL Turbo Cleaner Dry Walnut Shell is such that when injected by means of compressed air upstream in the gas side of the turbine it causes a slight abrasive action which maintains the turbine is always clean.

Once injected in the turbine RXSOL Turbo Cleaner Dry Walnut Shell burn and disappear into the atmosphere through the stack without causing any detrimental chemical reaction. Although that method is efficient it presents a number of drawbacks such as reduction of the rpm of the engine during the entire cleaning process, which causes a loss of speed. Furthermore there is always the risk of forming corrosive acids in presence of sulfurous residualsin the discharge duct.


Instead of water, dry solid bodies in the form of granules like RXSOL Turbo Cleaner Dry Walnut Shell is used for cleaning. A certain quantity of them, depending on the turbocharger size, is blown by compressed air into the exhaust gas lines before the gas inlet casing On account of their hardness and composition (natural solid granules, size 1.3-1.7 mm.) RXSOL Turbo Cleaner Dry Walnut Shell have an excellent mechanical cleaning eff ect (soft blast). As a rule, a turbine should be cleaned every 24 to 48 hours of operation.
