Remarks:

If RXH is not acid enough to release a proton at alkaline pH, as it is the case with amines, then the reaction has to be carried out in two steps. During the first step the first EO mole is added at acid pH, so that the amine is transformed in ammonium. The reaction produce the mono-, di- and tri-ethanol amines. 

Proton release from ammonium NH4+ → NH3 + H+ (here RX- is NH3) Then, the three condensation reactions: 

 

NH3 + EO → NH2CH2CH2OH (mono-ethanol amine MEA)
NH2CH2CH2OH + EO → NH(CH2CH2OH)2 (di-ethanol amine DEA)
NH-(CH2CH2OH)2 + EO → N(CH2CH2OH)3 (tri-ethanol amine TEA) 

With an alkyl amine, first the alkyl ammoniumion is formed and it is deprotonated: 

RNH3+ → RNH2 + H+ (here RX- is RNH2)
RNH2 + EO → RNH-CH2CH2OH (mono-ethanol alkyl amine)
RNH-CH2CH2OH + EO → RN(CH2CH2OH)2 (di-ethanol alkyl amine) 

Once the ethanol amine is attained, the EO polycondensation is carried out at alkaline pH as previously. In many instance the first ethoxylation is stopped when the monoethanol alkyl amine is formed in order to avoid the polycondensation in more than one chain.

APPLICATIONS

Antifreeze Special is free from amine, phosphate and nitrite etc. And uses as  engine Antifreeze as well as coolant. This product is based on ethylene glycol. It contains a corrosion inhibitor,  salts of organic acids and silicates (Si-OAT). It protects all metallic parts against corrosion and deposits in the cooling system.

Benefit

The product protects all parts of cooling system from frost, oxidation and overheating.

It has long-term protection against corrosion for all materials used in the engine and radiator construction, such as cast iron, aluminium, copper and solder alloys as well as a good compatibility with hoses, seals or plastics.

It contains carefully selected amine, nitrite, boron and phosphate free inhibitors and is therefore environmentally friendly.

At concentration of 10% by volume, Coolant Green Antifreeze affords excellent protection against cavitation and corrosion to all metal and alloys which are used in cooling system, such as aluminium, ferrous and yellow metals.

Antifreeze Coolant or Radiator Coolant is used by all vehicles for heat transfer. Antifreeze Coolant should be efficient in transferring the heat as well as preventing scale & corrosion of the radiator and the engine cooling system. Antifreeze Coolant is antifreeze during the winter due to low freezing point and an anti boiling during the summer season due to high boiling point.

The coolant should be prepared with water that is clean but not too hard. The following types of water are unsuitable: sea water,mixture of sea water and fresh water, salt water and industrial waste water. The analytical values of the water should be within the following limits :
Water hardness   : 0 -    100 ppm
Chloride contents: max 100 ppm
Sulphate contents: max 100 ppm
The water must be treated by suitable means if it does not fulfill these requirements, i.e. by adding softened, or distilled or deionized water. Excessive sulphate or chloride contents can also be reduced by adding distilled or deionized water.

Refined castor oil is extracted from Refined Commercial Grade Castor Oil that is produced by crushing the steam-cooked castor seeds of the expeller. F.S.G. Castor Oil is Castor Oil bleached to British Standard Specifications. Castor oil is a yellow viscous liquid free from suspended matter and insoluble in water. Refined Castor Oil is used as an essential component that serves as a lubricant in vitamin and mineral tablet coatings and as a raw material for the manufacture of value-added castor oil derivatives. The Refined Commercial Grade Castor Oil is processed by the bleaching and filtering method that helps to minimize the quality of colour, F.F.A (Free Fatty Acid) and moisture. Furthermore, Refined Castor Oil is used to manufacture other derivatives of castor oil and useful industrial products.Castor oil has long been used commercially as a highly renewable resource for the chemical industry. India is a net exporter of castor oil, accounting for over 90% of castor oil exports, while the United States, European Union, and China are the major importers, accounting for 84% of imported castor oil. Castor beans are cultivated for their seeds yielding a viscous, pale yellow non-volatile and non-drying castor oil. Castor beans, the source of castor oil, contain some allergenic (2S albumin) proteins as well as ricin; however, processed or refined castor oil is free from any of these substances and can be safely used in pharmaceutical applications. This can be attributed to its wide range of biological effects on higher organisms. Ricin is found exclusively in the endosperm of castor seeds and is classified as a type 2 ribosome-inactivating protein. Type 2 ribosome-inactivating proteins such as ricin from castor oil are lectins, which irreversibly inactivate ribosomes, thus stopping protein synthesis and eventually leading to cell death. This makes ricin a potent plant toxin.

Castor oil is a promising commodity that has a variety of applications in the coming years, particularly as a renewable energy source. As a source of biodiesel, recent studies showed that the biodiesel synthesis from castor oil is limited by a number of factors that include having the proper reaction temperature, oil-to-methanol molar ratio, and the quantity of catalyst.
