NESSLERS REAGENT For ammonia & ammonium salt
Application:
Nessler′s reagent is widely used in determination of ammonium compounds. It can be prepared using anhydrous mercuric iodide and anhydrous potassium iodide. It can be prepared from potassium tetraiodomercurate dissolved in potassium hydroxide.
Using Procedure:
  stock solution 1.0 mL = 1.0 mg NH3-N Dissolve 3.819 g Nessler reagentDissolve 100 g of mercuric iodide and 70 g of potassium.
Note:
  Nessler's Reagent is used to detect production of ammonia and ammonia salts.
