Application:
   Dimidium Bromide is used as fluorescent probe for nucleic acids and as interchelating agent. 
Using Procedure:
 dimidium bromide in a dosage of 2 or 3 mg./ Kg. to normal Zebu-type cattle regularly produced liver dysfunction.    Dimidium bromide in a dosage of 2 or 3 mg./ Kg. to normal Zebu-type cattle regularly produced liver dysfunction.  
Note:
 The reaction involves the readily isolated intermediate iminochloride which undergoes facile cyclization only in presence of certain inorganic halide catalysts. The analogy to the Friedel-Crafts reaction is discussed.
